Album review: Black Aces – Anywhere But Here

With their second album, Black Aces keeps on working that fine Australian tradition that started with AC/DC. In fact, I think this might be the missing link between AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Airbourne. The music is a bit heavier than AC/DC but maybe not so intense like Airbourne, but still with the same catchy melodies and riffs!

Actually, this is also a difficult album to review, because what’s not to like? It’s pure happy party rock ‘n roll music! I can’t find a bad song, only rock that makes you wanna party! But on the other hand, you’ve really heard this music before. As lead singer Tyler Kinder said: “We aren’t necessarily trying to reinvent the wheel, but we are going to give it a bloody good spin!

It might not be a classic album that I will remember in a couple of years, but it’s a really good album. And… “For those about to rock…” this album will definitely get you going!

And for all this kind of music, it will probobly be like 10 times better live!

The album will be released by Off Yer Rocka Recordings on November 8, be sure to check it out!

Here’s the title-track from the album: “Anywhere But Here”:

Keep on rocking mates! And if you’re looking for some more awesome music, check out review-page!
