Crannk Reviews Bricks – “Crimes & Curses”

While scrolling through the world of punk groups on facebook today I stumbled upon a post that was truly inspiring.
A band that had recorded an album in 2015 before going on hiatus and never released it had uploaded the release to bandcamp as a free download.
The band Bricks started up in 2010 as a 4 piece act but by 2011 was a 3 piece band blending hardcore punk and metal riffage.
Bricks released their debut EP “Beasts Blood” in 2013 and it earned them a loyal following. Bricks was named Rock Revolt Magazines Indie band of the week after reviews started to be written about the release. You might have seen them on tour around the country with US thrash metal band Havok around this time. At some point in 2015 the band recorded their first album “Crimes & Curses” before going on hiatus in 2016.
“Crimes & Curses” was a concept album inspired by the life of a friend close to the band. The production and engineering was by Robert Webster, the album cover art was by Ben Tarpey. All music by Bricks, lyrics by Rob Ryles and Bricks.

Bricks lineup at time of recording was
Rob Ryles – guitar/vocals Ben Tarpey – bass/backing vocals Fernando Castaneda – drums/backing vocals

You can stream or download a copy of the Brick album “Crimes & Curses” from bandcamp (link below) and if you missed the excitement of their 2013 EP “Beasts Blood” you will also find it on bandcamp. Both releases are “name your price” free so go check it out.
