Massive, a band from Melbourne, Australia! Acording to the bio, a volatile macho-rock engine fueled on adrenaline, lager and a determination to party hard! And as I’ve been listening to the new album “Rebuild Destroy” I couldn’t agree more!
Kicking of with “Generation Riot“, It’s a real nut-kicker of a song! Blows my mind! Next off: “Long Time Coming“. A real kick-in-the-face rocker! With some west-coast rock to it!
And it just keep on coming! I just can sit still when listening to this album. It’s a punch in every song!
Actually, it was a long time ago I felt this good about new music! Brought me back to when I was in my youth and discovered all those new band in the 80s…When everything was new. Straight, shitty to the max (sorry for the Hellacopters flirt), but it actually is. It’s shitty rock with beers flying. And it’s ROCK!
I sometimes feel that many Aussie-bands in this genre suffer from the heritage of AC/DC, but not this time. I really think that Massive stayed clear from that. And that’s not easy, playing hard rock from Aussie-land. But these guys pulls it off! I feel a mix of AC/DC, Guns n’ Roses, Quireboys and a maybe some Hellacopters and… Isch… I don’t really give a shit what the influences might be, this is great fucking rock music, and you don’t wanna miss it if you like party rock!
Fucking love this album! This will be my party album for the next years! Massive gives a new meaning to rock n roll with an punk attitude! It’s just riffs and great vocals and impossible to sit still…
