I have to say that I’m enjoying the latest offering by prog metal legends Mastodon (Once More ‘Round The Sun) but I was quite shocked and intrigued by their official film clip for “Motherload” which features……ummm…..well…..you’ve seen the clip, and the youtube comments are (as always) a great source of commic relief.
The lyrics seem to have a very positive message until the “you can have it, I can put it right there in your hands” line, then that gives it a sinister tone, as for the clip I think they are taking the piss out of the obsession we seem to have with arses or perhaps the shaking of arses.
So, what’s you take on the clip and/or song in general? Are you rocking out to the new album?
For the record I find the clip quite hypnotic yet disgusting at the same time, it’s like watching a car crash in slow motion.
