Crannk Reviews Clowns – “Nature/Nurture” album

Clowns are a 5 piece hardcore/punk/rock band from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This band has been performing and releasing music for near a decade now, with 3 studio albums to their name already the band have a loyal fan base both at home and internationally.
The new album Nature/Nurture was recorded at Hothouse Studios in Victoria was released on the 12th of April 2019. This will be the first release on the new Damaged Record Co, as the band started its own Aussie label. The rest of the world will get the release via Fat Wreck Chords.
Early tracks released to promote the album were “Prick” and “I Wanna Feel Again” but the album has a total of 11 tracks.
I Wanna Feel Again has a really interesting intro full of slow quiet melodic guitar and vocals before bursting into the heavy punk sound fans love them for.
Prick” is a great hardcore style song about pricks in the music industry. It has some sweet show off lead guitar
The opening track “Bland Is The New Black” is a rather entertaining hard and fast punk tune.
I really like the song “Freezing In The Sun” the fast paced guitar driven track, lyrics with meaning sound amazing with Stevie screaming in frustration broken up by Hanny J’s softer parts.

The final track “Nurture” features a sitar and it fits really well with the amazing bass line, this is perhaps the most experimental track on the album and its rad.

The band is doing an Australian tour to promote the new album in June and will be doing shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Bunbury, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth and Sydney.
