Review: Tequila Mockingbyrd – Fight And Flight!

Australian powerhouse trio, Tequila Mockingbyrd sprung from Melbourne, are about to kick you in the nuts!

In the press-release, they quoted Lizzy Hale from Halestorm. She said, “That’s incredible, those girls are so talented… I love it… “, and when I read that I got the shivers… But fortunately – Tequila Mockingbyrd is far from Halestorm! This is rock n’ roll when it’s at the best! And it FUCKING ROCKS!!

The first song of the album really sets the standard. It’s in the title actually: “I smell like Rock n’ Roll”, and that’s what it all about. I can almost feel the smell of rock ‘n roll and diesel… The first time I heard the song I was like… Airbourne… but that’s not really true. I do feel influences from AC/DC, but also The Hellacopters, Baby Animals, Thundermother and a whole lot of old punk-rock.

It’s full speed from start to end, dirty hard rock, pure joy, and I loved it from the first time I heard the album. I’m not saying that this will be the best album of the year, but it’s music that you really have to get up and dance to…

It’s not an album where you read stuff like “yeah, i found an inner meaning…”, this is more like “STAND UP AND SHOUT!!” Love this! This is beach 2017 and a big fucking party! And I want more! And I would really love to see this live, I guess it’s gonna be like 10-times better!

My favorite songs are: “I smell Rock ‘n Roll, Catalyst, Half the man, This aint dead, and So no me (with a fucking cowbell!!)!

Here’s some video’s, and man, they really do good videoes! At the end of all the youtube-stuff, you will find the album on Spotify!
